After your teeth have been thoroughly cleaned, Dr. Darvishian or Dr. Julijja will perform a dental examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth. They will begin by reviewing your medical and dental history, including any medications you take that could have an impact on your oral health.

X-rays or digital images are taken if necessary to detect decay between the teeth, bone deterioration, or damage below the gumline. The dentist will examine your teeth for cavities and breakage, check for any signs of gum disease, assess your bite and jaw alignment, and perform an oral cancer screening. If any concerning lesions are seen, a scraping may be taken for a biopsy.

At the end of your checkup, we will review our findings. If issues need attention, we’ll schedule a follow-up. If your teeth and gums are healthy, we’ll share tips to maintain them and schedule your next visit in six months.
